Washington State Fair
The Washington State Fair strives to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. It is committed to making the 160-acre facility accessible to all its guests. Request for event related accommodations available to persons with disabilities should be made directly to the Event Promoter of the show you will be attending.
WHEELCHAIRS
Wheelchairs can be rented on a first come, first served basis for a minimal daily charge inside the Gold, Blue, and Green Gates. Rental requires a valid Washington State driver’s license, military ID card, credit card or cash deposit. Quantities are limited. Rentals are first come, first served and may not be reserved in advance. Guests may also bring their own wheelchair. Accessible drop-off available only at the Green Gate.

- Scooters: $60 - ($45 after 5pm)
Cash Machines
There are cash machines located on the grounds provided by Columbia Bank that are mobility aid-accessible. They are outside the Gold Gate, inside the Gold Gate, inside the Blue Gate and the Northeast outside corner of the Matrress Firm ShowPlex. They may be located in other convenient locations.
Drinking Fountains
Guests using wheelchairs can find accessible drinking fountains in various locations through the Washington State Fair Events Center.
Parking
Guests with a state disability placard or license plate may park in the designated area in selected lots on a first come, first serve basis. Five sections are available at the following parking lots:
- Gold Parking Lot – 9th Ave SW and Meridian St S
- Blue Parking Lot – Meridian St S and 10th Ave SE
- Red Parking Lot – 5th St SW and 9th Ave SW
- Green Parking Lot – Off 5th/9th St SW Bypass near Green Gate
- Purple Parking Lot – Off 5th/9th St SW Bypass near Purple Gate
Restrooms
Wheelchair accessible stalls, built to accommodate mobility aids, are located near gate entrances and throughout the facility. In addition, the Matrress Firm ShowPlex has unisex restrooms large enough to accommodate a guest in a wheelchair accompanied by an attendant.
Telephones
Amplified Telephone Handset and TDD are located near the Blue Gate. Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD).
Service Animals
Service Animals are welcome throughout the facility. Pets are not permitted.
Sign Language Interpreters
Sign language interpreters are available from 2 pm -8 pm daily during the Washington State Fair to assist hearing impaired guests and employees. Notify the attendant at the main information booth, located next to the Extreme Scream, and they will contact the interpreter on the Fairgrounds. Fair Time Accessibility
Information regarding accommodations for persons with disabilities is available at all four information booths, located inside the Gold/Blue and Red gates and in SillyVille. The switchboard staff on the first floor of the Administration Building can also provide information.
People Movers
During the Washington State Fair, ride on People Movers, Mondays-Thursdays, 10 am - 7 pm, as crowds permit. They are ADA accessible. You'll find stops throughout the facility.
Information Booths
During the Washington State Fair, information booths are located near the Gold/Blue and Red Gates, next to the Extreme Scream and in SillyVille. You'll find friendly attendants who will help you find whatever it is you’re looking for at The Fair.

First Aid
A first aid facility is located between the Gold and Blue Gates. It is staffed by Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. Fire department medics are also on the grounds to provide assistance.
Gate Entrance
If a disabled guest purchases a gate ticket and notifies the ticket seller or ticket taker that they need an Attendant/Caregiver to assist them, the Attendant can proceed to the disabled/stroller entrance with the disabled guest and receive complimentary admission to the Washington State Fair.
Grandstand and Rodeo Seating
Guests using mobility aids (such as wheelchairs) should select accessible seating on the grandstand map. Up to 3 additional companion seats may be purchased based on availability.
Midway Rides
In accordance with ADA statutes, any differently abled individual may ride any carnival ride, providing that the individual can enter and exit without the assistance of the ride operator.
Stage Seating
Dedicated areas for guests with disabilities are set up for events at the Showplace Stage, the Coca-Cola Stage, Fountain Stage and W.H. Paulhamus Arena. The space is available first come, first serve.
