User Guidelines

Thank you for connecting with the Washington State Fair! We appreciate you utilizing social media to share your stories and help share ours. To continue having a fun, safe and great space in the social world, we want to make you aware of our policies. This also includes the applicable terms and conditions enforced by specific social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.). We reserve the right to edit or update these guidelines and policies at our discretion.

By posting content including photos, videos and other information, to the Washington State Fair’s social media channels, we reserve the right to use this content at any time. The Fair can share, promote and reproduce the content without any obligation or payment to you. You have the legal right to license any of your content you share on our channels.

Appropriate/Inappropriate Content and Material

We make every effort to create a space in social media where fans have the ability to engage with us. We welcome self-expression, thoughts, opinions and concerns. Please respect others’ posts and do not publish the following material: threatening, defamatory, indecent, obscene, fraudulent, slanderous or deceptive. Additionally, please do not post content that promotes illegal activity, violates copyright/ trademark and/or privacy rights.

Channel Management

The Washington State Fair reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to hide or delete posts made to any of our social media channels at any time.  Content and material posted by fans, does not necessarily reflect the views, values and opinions of the Washington State Fair. The Fair does not represent or warrant the accuracy of any statements made by fans on our sites. We also reserve the right to delete content that appears to originate from a fake or anonymous profile or used to promote commercial products or services.

Community Management

We will always do our best to be responsive to messages/questions we receive via social media. We reserve the right to respond privately or not at all, to specific issues, if content is disparaging, attacking or unrelated to the Washington State Fair. We reserve the right to use our judgment in how and when we respond. As always, for specific concerns, please contact the Public Relations department.

No Endorsements

The Washington State Fair often posts upcoming events happening at our venue and shares community and business posts, but these posts are not endorsements. Accuracy of information should always be vetted with the third party putting on the event or the original person who posted information.
